Beatitudes

The 8 Beatitudes

the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven. (5:3)
those who mourn: for they will be comforted. (5:4)
the meek: for they will inherit the earth. (5:5)
those who hunger and thirst for righteousness: for they will be filled. (5:6)
the merciful: for they will be shown mercy. (5:7)
the pure in heart: for they will see God. (5:8)
the peacemakers: for they will be called children of God. (5:9)
those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (5:10)

1: The first beatitude represents those who do not spend all there money on senseless objects will be rewarded later on

2: This beatitude represents to me how if you care about things in life you will be cared about too.

3:This represents to me how if you have patience and roll with the punches you will gain more power and respect.

4:This to me represents people who do good and help others will gain the praise they deserve for there actions.

5:This one is more straight forward as it is much like the golden rule, treat others how you want to be treated.

6: This means to be pure and innocent in your heart will grant you a closer relationship with god

7: This beatitude talks about how if you are peaceful and not a angry person you will be close to god.

8: This one to me reminds me of jesus's crucifixion, how he was prosecuted for being the son of god

What they mean to me

1: You can represent this beatitude by being charitable and volunteering.

2: This can be represented by not just morning for yourself but also for others, and being compassionate

3: You can represent this by being patience with others and to stay calm.

4: This can be represented by seeking out and being right to others. ex help others who have less then you.

5: This can be represented by showing mercy to those who have less and need your mercy. also to forgive people and give them a second chance

6: This can be represented by trying to always be good and try and sin as little as much.

7: This is pretty easy but you can represent it by being peaceful and block out negitive thoughts

8: This can be represented by standing up for whats right and not to be afraid to stand up for the right thing.
